Nicollet Towers apartments is a project serving elderly residents, families, and long-term homeless residents situated in 2 three-story buildings, one 12-story tower, and one 20 story tower southwest of the central business district in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
NAHT, working in partnership with the Volunteers of America, Provided LIHTC equity for the moderate rehabilitation of Nicollet Towers. The project has 219 one-bedroom units, 59 two-bedroom units, 23 two-bedroom townhouse units, 2 three-bedroom townhouse units and 3 units for management. Nicollet Towers is located in Hennepin County which along with the seven surrounding counties comprises the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, dominated by the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul with a population of over 3 million.
Volunteers of America (VOA) was founded by Ballington and Maud Booth on March 8, 1896. Nationwide, they employ over 14,000 professionals and have more than 70,000 volunteers. The organization is one of the largest nonprofit health and housing organizations in the United States. They design, build, landscape and manage quality, affordable housing for more than 20,000 people who are underprivileged, elderly or have a disability.
