Columbus, Ohio (December 2, 2024) – National Affordable Housing Trust (NAHT) today announced the retirement of President & CEO Lori Little after 22 years with NAHT. Brian Dowling was named interim CEO. Lori will remain at NAHT to assist with the transition through February 2025.
“It has been an honor and pleasure to work closely with my colleagues at NAHT, and with our mission-focused developers and the residents they serve through affordable housing projects,” said Little. “I am proud of the work of our investors and the NAHT team to make impact investments that address the housing affordability crisis.”
Brian was most recently interim Chief Revenue Officer at NAHT, overseeing the organization’s Originations and Capital Markets activities. “I look forward to leading the NAHT team during this transition and expanding my role in working with our investment and development partners on the impactful work that NAHT does throughout the country.” said Dowling.
“Lori has been an integral part of the NAHT team, and I am grateful for her leadership and the many accomplishments she and the NAHT team have achieved,” said Kimberly Latimer-Nelligan, NAHT Chairperson. “I look forward to welcoming Brian as interim President & CEO and am confident that he will lead the organization effectively during this transition.”

Brian is the founder of Consensus Housing Partners LLC, an affordable housing consulting firm that provides advisory services to developers, operators, lenders, and investors. Brian also spent 16 years with The Community Development Trust (CDT), the only private REIT dedicated exclusively to affordable housing and community development. During Brian’s tenure at CDT, he completed over $1.275 billion in property acquisitions preserving over 10,000 units across the country and oversaw $200 million in lending activity across the United States.
Brian holds a master’s degree from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester. He is also a member of the Council of Advisors for the Community Development Corporation of Long Island.
NAHT also announced today that Michelle Norris of N-Sights Consulting, LLC will serve as NAHT’s Strategic Advisor. Michelle has a 30-year career in the affordable housing mission work and is a long-time partner with NAHT in numerous capacities.
