Mayor Walsh Launches Next Phases of Award-Winning Flat 9 at Whittier Redevelopment in Roxbury
Mayor Martin J. Walsh, alongside the Boston Housing Authority (BHA) and other partners, celebrated the inauguration of Phase One and the groundbreaking of Phase Two of the Flat 9 at Whittier redevelopment project in Roxbury. This transformative initiative aims to replace 200 old public housing units with 210 deeply affordable apartments and introduce 262 mixed-income units, totaling to 472 units. The award-winning redevelopment, supported by a $30 million federal grant, also entails 14,000 square feet of commercial space.
