Property Summary
Laurel Street and the South Rome Alliance are partnering to build South Meadows Apartments, a new affordable housing community in the South Rome neighborhood, as part of continued efforts to transform South Rome into a thriving mixed-income neighborhood under the Purpose-Built model. The community features 80 high-quality residences in a series of modestly scaled buildings on a 9-acre site designed to blend into the surrounding residential neighborhood. With one, two, and three-bedroom units for households earning 30%, 60%, and 80% of area median income, South Meadows Apartments will be a model of multi-generational mixed-income living. Community amenities include the South Meadows Farm, garden plots, an educational facility, a community gathering room, a fitness center, laundry facilities, and a communal green with a playground and covered pavilion. Apartment features include open floor plans, pantries, hardwood-style flooring, quality appliances, walk-in closets, washer and dryer connections, ceiling fans, upgraded light fixtures, and patios or balconies.
The 80 apartments will range in rental prices of $250 per month to over $1,000 per month for three-bedroom apartments. Construction will be complete by fall of 2023
